Big West Football Announces Schedule Changes
Hawaii Rainbow Warriors Travel to Texas State
The Big West Conference announced adjustments to its 2023 football schedule on Friday. The most notable change involves the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors, who will now open their season on the road against Texas State University on August 26th.
The game was originally scheduled to be played at the SimpliFi Arena at Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu, but has been moved to Bobcat Stadium in San Marcos, Texas. The kickoff time remains at 6:00 p.m. HST.
The Rainbow Warriors will also face Cal Poly on September 16th at Alex G. Spanos Stadium in San Luis Obispo, California, instead of hosting the Mustangs in Honolulu.
Volleyball Schedule Adjustment
In addition to the football schedule changes, the Big West Conference also announced adjustments to the Rainbow Wahine volleyball schedule. The Rainbow Wahine will now host Cal State Northridge on September 1st and UC Davis on September 2nd at the SimpliFi Arena at Stan Sheriff Center.
The Big West Conference did not provide a reason for the schedule changes.
The Hawaii Rainbow Warriors and Rainbow Wahine are both coming off successful seasons. The Rainbow Warriors finished 10-5 overall and 7-1 in the Big West Conference, while the Rainbow Wahine finished 27-3 overall and 18-0 in the Big West Conference.
The Rainbow Warriors will be looking to make a run at the Big West Conference championship in 2023, while the Rainbow Wahine will be looking to defend their Big West Conference title.
